Why Are We Grateful?

Although Pastor John Willis was not Singaporean, he chose to live and die in the country he was called to by God. Like a typical Singaporean, he loved chicken rice, turtle soup and durian. He lived frugally in a small room but gave more than he received and willed princely sums to Singapore Bible College and Moody Bible Institute.

He selflessly laid down 38 years of his remaining life in Singapore, and described them as "the most wonderful years" simply because "God gives us the best if we leave the choice to him."

His obedience to the call of God and his demonstration of God’s love to us brought thousands closer to God and that is why he is An American We Are Grateful For.
